The horizontal mud removers are machines designed especially
for washing very dirty inert material.
A counter-current operating principle is applied; namely washing
water flows counter to the direction of the inert material
to be washed; this way all impurities are down off.
To ensure thorough cleaning. adjustable blades are applied
which actively mix the material and send it forward.
The slant of the blades can be adjusted so as to make the material
advance slowly when it is very dirty and faster when it is
less dirty.
The cylinder is covered with wear-resistant interchangeable
armours; wear-resistant bands are set up just near to the towing
wheels to prevent the drum from being pierced.
Rotation is provided by two separate drive units consisting
of a motor, a swimming reduction gear, belts and pulleys to
make maintenance easier.
On request a sieve can be installed for removing dirty water
from roots.
